Edgy and playful, this is one of four collaborative pieces with South African born ceramic artist, Ruan Hoffmann.
I fell in love with Ruan’s work some time ago and could see that his style would translate into beautiful needlework. Ruan’s work is confrontational, emotional, sometimes playful and sometimes angry - but always provoking a reaction. These circular designs are a refreshing departure from what is expected in traditional needlepoint kits.
Ruan’s work has been exhibited in South Africa, Europe and the US and is in a number of collections including the South African National Gallery, The Frans Masereel Centrum, Belgium and the Museo De Arte Moderno, Dominican Republic. He lives in The Netherlands.
This kit is worked with Appletons and Anchor Tapisserie wools in continental tent stitch on Zweigart 12 h.p.i. canvas. Full instructions are provided. The design is printed in colour onto the canvas.
Please note these are needlepoint kits, not cushion kits. Backing fabric, trim and cushion pad are not included.
